What to include when you write to us
A short first message is enough, but a few details let us give a useful reply the first time rather than sending questions back and forth. Start with your name and the best way to reach you, whether that is email or a phone number.
Tell us what you do now. A freelance camera operator, a trainee reporter and a producer curious about live work all need different things, and knowing your current role helps us suggest the right session.
Describe what you want to improve. It might be steadier handheld shots, a calmer delivery in front of the lens, quicker decisions during a live link, or sharper interviewing. Even one sentence on this helps our tutors prepare.
If you would like mentoring, mention the kind of footage you could bring to a review. Recent reports, raw clips and unfinished packages are all welcome, and you do not need to have edited anything.
Finally, let us know about any practical needs, such as access requirements or travel limits for location days. We would rather plan around them from the start, and we treat everything you tell us with care.
